Symmetry

This is the last post of the season.
Its been a good round year, and a lot has changed.

As like the last blog [ended dec 15 2005], we count and tally the score. 199 for the first leg of the big journey. Its been a good ride. All the people i have met this year, the work, the parties i have been too and the places i have seen sum up to this.

2006 Rocked. Hard.

And if you want to know where and when the new blog emerges...
I will keep you posted. For folks who want the new address, email GlobeGL@gmail.com

Wow. Freaky.

I just received this mail about some Israeli politician. Somehow this blog has the attention of radical zionists. Now my response to that is... I wonder how much they get paid to do this. The second response is a knee-jerk reaction to edit my blog as i see fit.

Now i shall commence digging dirt on the above and will keep you posted.

I think the combination of commentary: Kim Jung Il, prostitution and chomsky make for interesting reading.

Ice Skating

Hey guys ...

Right now i am typing away on a couch opposite my baby bro, who is plain tuckered out from skating today. I brought him to the harbourfront rink and there will be some pics up soon. This morning we also went to little italy and had a good brunch. Its a nice pattern of bringing the folks out in the day for brunch and tiring my baby bro out in the evening.

And: Plans to go to montreal on monday.

Today I accomplished something i thought i never would. I bought a book about korea that doesnt bore the beetlejuice outta me.

Pretty Party Shoes

Today I brought my mom out and left ben at home. I figure it is time he gets the only child treatment. How else are you going to learn how to deepfry things before you're 13 ? And subsequently, how else would you learn how to take care of yourself in a foreign country at 13 when your sis is off gallavanting at some board meeting?

Anyway, in news this week, I read several sensational articles about the Ipswich murderer. Its sad. Bascially there is some guy killing street walkers, and the count is up to 5. In the region where these women are from, it is street knowledge that these women are in the dangerous profession due to a drug habit. Its saddening that the community only cares about the disappearance of these women only when they are dead, and only cares on catching the killer because 'normal' women are afraid that the killer will 'run out' of prostitutes.

I think when you enter the underbelly of society and enter a profession like that, you can be as good as reported missing, because you are doing harm to yourself. In this situation where drug addiction is endemic to almost 90% of the community, the bigger problem is the failure of that society to address drug pushing and abuse. Women can do prostitution, there is no right or wrong about that, because there wouldnt be a supply if there wasnt a demand and its the woman's choice, but letting drug peddlers go about their business hooking on young girls at 13 is disgusting.

Well i am just miffed.

The Coming...dawning...arrival...

Dec 3rd, 9.90am, Toronto Time

G: Hi Mom, ready to go ?
M: Hiiiii gwen ! Yes i am all packed.
G: Are you excited ? I hope the bags are manageable. Osaka is fine but detroit... and the directions in the TO airport are horrible. Dont forget that when you have a kid, you're allowed to go on and off the plane first. If you dont, you'll spend an hour getting past immigration.
M: Ok.
G: So how many hours more till you leave?
M: What are you talking about ? I arrive on the seventh.
G: Oh.
M: hahahahaha
G: So got the checklist? Maggi Mee, Milo, Curry Powder and erm.. green tea. I wish you were here, the weather is beautiful.

And all that panicked shopping, cleaning and general planning for nothing.

Note to Folks
Don't forget your swimming costumes for the jacuzzi.
